Flocc was recently used to power an agent-based model of contagion transmission at the Complex Networks Winter Workshop, an annual event sponsored by the Vermont Complex Systems Center at the University of Vermont. The model, "Social-Health Adaptations in Managed Populations: (edge) Weight Watchers," explores the dynamics of local and global edge weight adjustments in reducing the spread of contagions such as COVID-19, simulating both individual risk-averse behavior and 'lockdowns' imposed in a top-down manner by higher authorities.
A look at contact adaptation to preserve social health!
